And you have to know enough to know whether the gamble is mispriced. That's value investing"

Simple as that really,
Value or Value Trap

When you figure it out, what that risk is, and can "value" how much of that is market specific (e.g. interest rates), sector specific (e.g. lithium prices) and then company specific (e.g. asset risk) then maybe you have the seeds to "know enough" about whether the gamble (stock is mispriced) is worth it.
