Don't worry, bubble in 2018 was based on unsustainably high lithium prices, and there was only approximately 280gwh's of battery cell capacity. Today, we have lithium prices (particularly spod) at unsustainably low levels, well not yet high enough to encourage new supply, while battery cell capacity out to 2030 is now over 3twh's.
If Tesla get their way and their 2030 strategy goes to plan, they alone are targeting 3twh's of capacity to feed their EV and ESS business, so we may see demand grow to a total of 5twh's by 2030, which in lithium demand terms equates to 4.15 mill tonnes of "BATTERY QUALITY", slightly up from today's 250kt.......
