Strike Oil announces that Cypress E&P Corporation, the operator of its Gulf Coast drilling program, has secured a further drilling rig to drill the Webernick 1 well on the Mesquite A prospect in Jackson County, Texas. Estimated spud date of the well is 1 December 2005. The currently drilling Shefick 1 well is drilling on the Mesquite B Prospect which has 10 to 15 billion cubic feet of gas potential. This prospect is adjacent to the Mesquite A Prospect which has 15 to 20 billion cubic feet of gas potential.

Both these prospects are targeting the same reservoir formation on the same broad structure in adjacent leases.

Competitors have drilled six wells on the structure in the last 8 months with publicly announced test results of between 5.4 to 16.9 million cubic feet of gas per day per well.

Success in either well will have a significant material impact on the value of Strike Oil. The specifics of the current wells are as follows-
