Sorry about the late reply madmacs. Thank you as always for the commentary as well as the charts. It looks like that from yesterdays failed break we could remain within the current channel for a little longer. I suspect that tomorrows trading will provide greater insight. I did notice however that the last significant upthrust in September 2015 did initially commence with a similar pattern to what he had in trading on Friday of last week and Monday of this week, although at shorter candle length.
Terribly sorry, however my knowledge of Ichimoku is rather nonexistent. I'm assuming here however that you are looking for a break on volume of the "up kumo cloud" to signal an entry.
In any case, assuming the announcement is released sometime this week and the numbers good, I would suspect that the charts in this instance will be redundant to the fundamental news.
