i would say manipulation until they can wiggle out, or one hell of a covering.
its hard to know as we're only speculating that the bottom is in. carl a journalist for market index has certainly changed his tone from one of negatively to a probable bottom.
i doubt it will be a rocket but rather a gradual unwinding of shorts which would eventually change the trend. still early days yet.
