If you are a gambler, then that is a valid strategy.
As an investor not so much. If in the whole investible universe you only find one good story, then you are lazy or blind. (Sorry to be so blunt)
Personally, I suck at predicting the timing of stock movements. So I do not touch options. But having several players in the field makes sense.
I was in early in PLL (and PLS). After Battery Day PLL ran. I sold it to buy 5x more PLS than what I could have bought if I had invested all in PLS from the start.
Several stocks are obviously good for risk diversification. ( Among many good ones, I also had the rotten apple AJM )
