It seems extremely inefficient for the Chinese to store Lithium for 9-12 months. The Spod needs to be extracted and processed chemically. 5-10K DMT takes up a lot of space.
Even from mine to port, then shipped to Chinese port, unloaded and stored, processed chemically and delivered to the manufacturer, the time period of 9-12 months still seems way too long. These people are the leaders of the EV production world and that estimate makes them seem like fools.
