Investing by many funds these days is a battle of egos. Have a listen to Romano from Katana Asset Management in the MOM pod (link at bottom of post) from a few days ago. PLS from 1:02:03. They are selling PLS for no other reason than it has had a 5-6% SP spike and they will wait for the interim before deciding when to buy again. They think they can outsmart everyone else. They may well get it right, this time.

Bottom line is, what is their (Katana) performance over the last few years. Snippet below.

That sort of return isn't what I call life changing. So are these the sort of returns I would be happy with. No way but these investment funds get airtime and some folk hang on their word. So they made a quick 5% return in short time. Their return over the last year was 9.66%, 5 year 10.94% That means they are gleaning high fees and getting many investment calls wrong.

I'll stick with my SMSF 5 year compound return of 51% thank you very much. I only have 4-5 stocks on average, at any time.

The market is made up of funds, retail traders and all sorts of FW's, like many that are visiting here presently, who are jostling for their share of the spoils.

Meanwhile, the LTers here also participate in the market, with various methods that they are comfortable with. The fact volatility is so high, tells me that this sector is the best game in town. They all want in, which will eventually lead to FOMO type SP & profit spikes and the inevitable cash flows to PLS that we witnessed in 2022.

Oh yeh, and the fact that the world needs Lithium in ever increasing quantities doesn't hurt. Will this Lithium spod price low go lower than the previous low. Absolutely not IMO. No Lithium company would survive as the inflationary effect of the last few years has driven the price much higher and the cost curve to get enough Lithium to meet demand is now somewhere north of the current price. Bottom line. The LT Lithium price trend is still up which plays into the hands of incumbents like PLS.

Apologies for posting this on the chart thread but the noise from FW's visiting here (not you Rov, we all know who they are), mainstream media and every other agenda driven participant is deafening currently.
