    Your question is out of context. The context I was talking about is the share market and specifically the lithium market, and not the property market. There is very little speculation - if any at all - in pricing property compared to pricing lithium (a commodity). The following graphs show clearly that fact:

    If you didn't secured your accumulated profit in lithium (PLS) last year when the price of lithium was peaking, then that profit would have gone. If you had secured your accumulated profit, you could have bought back more shares because the price is cheaper than your selling price. There is real profit there.

    With your property, from the practical point of view, there is probably no real profit, because as you say similar properties close by have the same value as yours. If you sell your property and buy another one, instead of profit you will likely lose on fees.

    So I won't call your profit on your property as a dreamer's profit, but an illusionary profit.
