"...shorts is a lot of shares to cover, scramble begins today..."
Usdually the first part of a short cover scramble is more shorting (to keep the price under control) followed by heavier buying of the "controlled" stock. It is amazing how easy it is to purchase stock from shareholders seeing a slight pull back and becoming worried about missing the rise!!
