Delivering the first Liebherr mining excavator to Eastern CanadaIn early January this year, Liebherr-Canada handed over an R 9150 mining excavator to new customer L. Fournier & Fils – a leading general contractor in Canada that works in the industrial, civil, and mining sectors. This R 9150 is the first Liebherr excavator commissioned in Eastern Canada and will go to work in the Abitibi-Temiskaming region at the North American Lithium operation, which is part of the largest spodumene – lithium ore – reserve in North America.

Note that this excavator was for North American Lithium (owned by Sayona ASX:SYA) which made a huge loss last year and narrowly decided not to go in to Care & Maintenance because of the cost of starting up again, but to try to increase production to 220mtpa (up from 133mtpa). At the same time they are hoping that the price of spod rises by a significant amount (as are we all).

The fact that the share price of the owner (Sayona) is at 4 cents should say it all.
