It was all planned/triggered from Australian institutional traders preparing for the report today.
If you look at Ganfeng's daily chart today at 9:55am local time (11:55am Sydney) it had a -2% 5 min candle. When the crash inherently start? 11:55 am exactly...
In 10 mins a block trade was executed as well.
For 30 mins the price as stagnant until the 1.2m one minute candle.
Shorters who covered that 1m share mostly are the buyers of that 1.2m volume as well. I know that were 820k sitting on the bid @ $2.92 and it was easy liquidity for another institutional to sell into.
