The federal gov, particularly the current one try's very hard not get too involved in business, leaving it up to business and states government to nurture industry. NSW, ACT state governments have deployed EV subsidies and various businesses are progressively transitioning their fleets to EV's as current vehicles hit end of lease/life, AGL is one example.
There are plenty of Oz businesses that are committed to delivering net zero, and buying EV's is part of the strategy.
So, there is strong demand for EV's down under, more that you may think, regardless of fed government political shenanigans.
