Spod price returning to historical pricing of around $800-900 US has been the subject of much discussion amongst industry stalwart’s who know the lay of the land and every known resource worldwide. Now to meet demand, all of these resources will be required, and more. Many of these projects will be high on the cost curve and 800-900 just won’t cut it. Poor quality brine with low ppm and impurities needing DLE, clay deposits, Lepidolite, low quality hard rock, Congo product coming down the River on the African Queen, all carry high costs.
Talk from industry experts (not the GS wankers) suggests a LT price of at least $1500 will be required to bring these projects online. By that stage PLS will be onto 2 Million tpa. with a midstream product and other downstream involvement. So don’t hold your breath expecting eps to retreat back to 17c.
