Thank you for your level headed and clear comments.

I take your point that quarterly fundamentals are also rear-viewing
(with occasional limited insights about the future within ASX rules)

A series of quarterly improvements (or the opposite) perhaps
form a similar function to rising or falling chart highs and lows?
As a chart accompanent - either sotto voce or fortissimo ?

Finding the end to major trends is indeed a difficult process,
though some chartists (not me) seem to have an uncanny
sense of how to find major turning points.

Double tops or bottoms, head and shoulders, and cups with
handles coupled with an understanding of fundamentals
plus support and resistance levels all have their fans.

I live in hope of understanding and making use of
major patterns after studying their success percentages.

A favourite of mine is ascending triangles with upward breakouts
but the failure rate needs more study.

Volumes are another black hole for "les recherches intensives"

Do you have any favourite predictive patterns that work for you?
(Not seeking advice - and also trying to find the book on chart patterns)
