The fact that the asset grosses $90k (cash currency is an illusion created by governments as a means of exchange) from short term rental and I reinvest in other assets that have strong growth prospects, but I don’t sell them, makes my whole portfolio of assets illusionary? Like Donald Vanshitsinpants, I’m asset rich but cash poor. Unlike Vanshitsinpants, I can pay my bills.
That’s what makes the market. Different opinions on value
and how to store that value. You obviously believe a good store of value is cash in digital form. Others think a good store of value is rum or cowrie shells. I think a good store of value is an asset that grows in value, generates profit and provides a profit in digital currency form that I can use to buy food, shelter, toys, cowrie shells, rum and entertainment.
If you regard that as illusionary and holding that asset as illusionary profit, so be it.
