Surely if we're making EV's now and built to last for x amount of years then the batteries will need to be swapped out and changed over many many times. LG Chem give a 7 year warranty on their home battery so even if it makes it to 10 or 12 years that means 1 house could buy 3 - 5 batteries over the next 50years. Companies don't invest this much money into something that only has 20 or 30 years in it. Even if new technologies come along, old tech becomes more affordable and is able to help countries less advanced.
