Aww that's hard for me to suggest as i don't really know what knowledge you currently have.
A book my financial advisor gave me which i enjoy is (Value-able by Roger Montgomery) i dusted it off for a second read recently. I find it less intense than (The Intelligent Investor by Benjamin Graham).
If you are trying to beat inflation and would like something more passive, maybe speak to your financial advisor about index etf's?
