As much as we think a share buyback will scare the shorters off, I personally don't think so. The amount we are talking about here has already been taken into account by the maggots and it hasn't stopped them taking positions. PLS isn't going to throw billions at a buyback. It will be a token amount and will mean little in the face of this onslaught.

I still maintain that a modestly small dividend and wise investment in growth, ESG etc initiatives is the correct path. Forward earnings does have a cloud over it presently, so until the shenanigans dissipate and the market matures, prudent capital management is required and so far, PLS has delivered. There is enough old wise heads on the BOD to see through the uncertainty and emotion of the current market.
