So the inventory folks isn’t just at chemical/cathode level. With CATL and BYD, they obviously built up large cell inventory during 2021/2022 when the Lithium price was still at toilet level. They would have locked in prices from the likes of ALB etc that allowed them to pump out cells cheaply and then use that inventory late 2022/23 as the Lithium price peaked. Rinse and repeat scenario. They will do the same again now. It’s a balancing act but they obviously know how to play it.
