In this lower li price cycle. The focus shifts from reliable supply to better margins. Whether it is manufacturing or lithium. The capitalist forces in the economy will always seek the lowest cost of production for higher margins. Brazil and Africa pose a great risk to The Australian hard rock sector if prices remain deflated long term.
The Chinese/African alliance is going to increase African mineral exports through the roof. I know all the dramas associated with Africa as an LLL holder too. So that aspect is atrocious. The Chinese however do not have this problem. They thrive in that environment.
Storage I believe will utilise cheaper battery tech as the reliance on being light weight is not an issue. Sodium batteries, vanadium offer cheaper large scale storage. I still believe in lithium long term so WC8 given the quality of the project should be all good but if the EV transition cools further and the deficit is pushed out beyond 2030 high capex/opex projects will be in trouble. IMO anyway.
