This may be a case of comparing apples and oranges. However, both Fortescue and Pilbara have a similar amount of shares on issue. FMG profit at 5.5 billion for 2023 and PLS 2.4 billion. Let’s just call it 40percent of FMG. FMG closing at a tad under $20 and PLS at around $4.50 Forty percent of $20 is $8. Now, a very crude comparison I do accept. Just a possible indicator of where the PLS share price might quickly move towards with more favourable pricing in the short term. Increased profitability in the next couple of years due to increased production and downstream activities should push the share price inevitably higher ceritus paribus. Other factors such as share buy backs only increase share price increase pressure. Just as a tasty tease, FMG latest annual dividend at $1.75 Forty percent of which represents .70cents. We’re no where near that sort of annual dividend this year or maybe be 2025. 2026 ? Who knows? Either way, the current downward shorting etc is a short to medium term aberration. Doubling of the share price and dividend over 2-3 years is acceptable. No need to be overly greedy and impatient.
