Shorters dont just short. Also they make money on the volitlity. I have no doubt many are watching for when PLS have a breather.
Most shorters are in and out within the hours or a few days.
Only when there are short reports or major incidents do you see shorters going long.
And finally most individual shorters hedge thier position. ie hold long or put options and puts.
It is usually only kiddies with bankroll of less than my friendly poker games who go short without coverung
