    I think we could end up in a pedantic argument here. That battery is based on the battery that was developed by ExxonMobil in the 70's however it is not the same battery today. Today's battery is a vastly improved version of that 70's invention.

    Ironically while typing this I was listening to a story on the radio about the Vanadium Redox battery that we all know about. What I didn't know is that it was invented by Maria Skyllas Cazacos in Sydney over 30 years ago.

    Who knew?

    As for you suggesting that those batteries are the same in the Tesla roadster, I reckon you might want to think again. It's performance and range suggests he's found a way to raise the performance of those batteries significantly. Either that or he's come up with some kind of hybrid with supercaps to get the numbers.
