Hi Ghaz,

the negotiations have been going on for some time. The papers give you the dates but the reality is always a little different. I believe they met for "pre-negotiations" in November.

i think this may be one of those years where the price is settled a little later than usual., maybe as late as May/June. This is because of the "impending US reccession" as the Chinese will cliam. However the settlement date can happen very quickly.... could be tommorrow as far as I know.

It is pretty funny listening to the negotiations.... bit like a stage show.

It doesn't really matter when the price is fixed.

If I remember correctly all Japanese shipments are adjusted as at the 1st April for the new price, whether it is settled before or after that date. Boasteel of China is also 1st April.... the rest of the Chinese are 1st january. I may mnbe wrong, but I dont think I am.
