What nation building tasks do we have for these new refugees?
Don't see many jobs for low skilled workers in Australia in 2015.
I guess they could build mosques. We would need a few more of those if we followed Germany.
You can play the humanitarian card by all means but don't suggest we actually need these people because we don't.
Any Syrians we take should be here on the basis that it is on a temporary basis. This doesn't preclude providing education and so on but it means that permanent residency isn't a foregone conclusion.
And finally what part of the budget do you propose we cut to pay for this or are we just going to borrow more money?
