The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang, received in audience last September 10, 2009 at the Star Building, a delegation of Korean investors led by Prof. Lee Ki Hun, chairman of the Korea Transport Institute (Koti). The delegation consisting of eleven people was accompanied by Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Cameroon, S. E. Sun-Ho Lee.
Prior to the visit to the Prime Minister, the Korean investor group signed an agreement with Cameroon for the study of the master plan of the national railway network. These studies will be done over a period of thirteen months from the signing of the contract will be completed in October 2010.
At the end of the audience, Prof Lee Hun Ki told the press that this project is vitally important for Cameroon because it aims to cover all the national territory, beginning from the most remote areas to the cities. "The network is also expected to connect to ports and airports, anything that will boost the import-export", he said. The project will also include a rail network to serve urban cities face real problems of communication channels and mobility within cities.
In addition to Koti, the delegation was composed of four other companies, Kopec, Chunksuk, Klna and Icak, come to explore business opportunities in the country.
