Why would Australia set up a massive new manufacturing facility when Australia has no expertise or experience in this field, to produce something that at the moment supplies about 3 % of our power needs and will NEVER be any better
At least we already know how to produce an efficient coal fired power station and we also have the fuel for it and when finished it will supply cheap power 24 hours a day
