What we see here is Abbott trying to kill off the idea of gay marriage without it looking like it his doing, bit like when Howard rigged the questions in the referendum on becoming a republic.
In my eye's marriage will always be a man and a woman but hey why not allow same sex couples the privilege of getting divorced and losing half their assets?
