PM pushes for public vote on gay marriage, page-43

It doesn't make much difference to me as far as gay marriage is concerned, but i can understand that for a lot of people it's very important. He has lost a major voting block of the Australian public with his antics on this subject. Tony Abbot has stated that a referendum would be held on the subject AFTER the next election. Why not in conjunction with the next election saving taxpayers multi millions of dollars. This government is a high spending, no future vision for Oz embarrassment to the rest of the world. Tony reminds me of Nero, fiddling while Australia burns. I will start calling him Nero from now on.
