I do support value investing and usually pick stocks which appear to be trading below market cap
However ignoring the macro picture could be a bit reckless.
Has anyone been "on the ground" in China recently and found anything to support the value hypothesis? This doesn't include the major centres such as Shanghai or Guangzhou but the outer regions. Anyway I heard from my friend they saw lots of high rise apartment blocks with the lights out in chungshan.
