Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against shorting in theory. If something is overvalued then I think it is a good thing for people to be able to short it. However, when shorts are used that are feeding of people's fears and it helps to drive prices far below their fair value (fair value is subjective though) I can't help but smile when it turns against them. Funny thing is I actually like how shorting can decimate a share price (if it can actually do this) because it provides awesome buying opportunities, cheaper than what you would usually get.
