The glasses are an attempt to fool voters for sure. Another new Julia but this time not via the hair! It was Lindsay Tanner who was recorded as saying Gillard used her bright hair colours in order to gain attention. I guess there are only so many hair colours and bob cuts that people will respond too!
It's not a lot different to well recorded cases of deliberate greying of a US president, a process carried out over several weeks so the people don't catch on. Gillard of course isn't so subtle.
Perhaps she should get a tattoo of the Aussie flag next?
