It's one thing to hire a M&A guy to your board. (BTW, they didn't need to make it a "board-level" hire. It could have been a VP of corp.)
Then Ken/Blair/Pierre decide to hire the big guns (MacQ) immediately. Why? Why!!!!??? This tells me they are getting offers now! Likely low balls in the $30's.
MacQ's job is to call up every potentially interested player and ask if they are interested as PMT is getting offers now. Tell them the current offers. Start a bidding war. That's their job here as I see it. Maybe, it's for the whole thing or just CV5?
Something likely happened last week in Vegas at Fastmarkets. If you're thinking of ever getting in...NOW would be that time!
