hard to believe these republicans. theyve literally been preferencing companies over individual taxpayers every step of the way since 17

even as far back as making company tax cuts permanent but individual tax cuts only temporary

im for the idea you shouldnt get paid more to work than not work as a concept in isolation.

but the basis on which they try to appear rational about individuals but irrationally supportive of companies is obscene

and the fact they do it all from an economic philosophical premise that money from companies trickles down to workers which drives gdp is totally debunked - which is why US was seeing terrible wage gains despite massive tax cuts pre pandemic

So if the idea is consumers drive the economy - and working is unsafe and so many business cant or wont rehire - then the rational response is that more money straight to consumers will drive more short term gdp growing consumption - which companies positioned in high demand areas will respond to by adding more workers - which is exactly what everyone from Amazon to FMCG companies have been doing

economically the republicans have totally lost the plot on the reason why they believe what they say they believe

just rigidly locked in place by their reliance on corporate, UHNW and lunatic fringe funding
