Unfortunately for all parties involved in the current JV is that any corruption investigation could put the permit status under threat from being revoked. I don’t think Kina could come out of this completely unscathed, yet also they could come out of it in a better position once the dust settles.

I hope in the end that justice is served on any corrupt officials in PNG, there is a serious need to clean out these individuals. A resource rich nation should be much better off if it weren’t for a few corrupt elite walking away with their bags if cash and mansions overseas. The AFP should be investigating these individuals more thoroughly for money laundering as several of them have housing here.
