Given the situations in Europe and the Middle East I suspect those stockpiles will be needed sooner than anyone would hope.
Personally I wonder if BARDA is using the trial as a reason to have a supply agreement in place with PNV and build inventory. This stuff will save a lot of lives and limbs in the event of conflict. BTM has a very long shelf life and a slow and steady modest buying program will over time give the US a singular advantage in field trauma management as well as humanitarian medical support.
