My reading on the general topic is that the real benefit of Recell is as a very effective skin graft extender for large area burns where there is a limited supply of the patient's own skin for split skin grafts. The corollary is that it also keeps the area from which a graft is taken as small as possible which is a considerable benefit to the patient for lots of reasons. These sites are also wounds in themselves.

My understanding also is that there is no real difference in the aesthetics of the final grafts, just that you get a better final outcome for split skin grafts in terms of coverage using Recell.

Perhaps the PNV product which has a totally different function may have more applications but Recell seems to perform an important function very well.

I am a recent PNV holder but not yet an AHV holder.
