Whatever your strategy is just make sure you have good records as all shares are disposed of eventually, even if only as part of your estate which may have to pay CGT.
If you cant establish a cost base to ATO satisfaction you will pay CGT on the whole amount received.
Relying on your broker for records can be a trap also as if you change brokers, or even change accounts, you can find yourself not being able to access buying records down the track.
Most HC users would have there own way of dealing with this.
