Buy 10,000 shares at $1, enjoy the ride and profits up to $3. We now have $30,000, yay .
Markets start to tank, really technically tank, we release a good report and the share price drops *alarm bells*
trader sells at, let's say $2.4 ($22500 after tax)
holder holds.
SP continues to trend down, plenty of signals indicating a full blown bear market and crash like 2008.
trader - "phew glad I got out"
holder - "it's the best company, we won't be affected by corona virus, if you don't sell you haven't lost anything"
SP drops to $0.99, around may/june with some signals of recovery.
trader buys 22500 shares
holder owns 10000.
SP of $5 in 2023
trader - $112500
holder - $50000
I know which I prefer.
