Good points. This has been a short term concern of mine ass well. Although access to hospitals is better than it was before, it seems to be a moving feast as some hospitals have been overwhelmed with more waves of infections resulting in more cancellations of surgeries. The impact as you highlight however, is not uniform. States with lower vaccination rates are getting hammered a lot harder.
