One thing to ponder is that if the hospital surgical staff has already experienced BTM, then based on the case studies we have seen, the surgeons are more likely to turn to BTM to get patients treated and home faster when the hospital is under stress from high case loads. A lot of the full thickness skin repair is urgent work so not elective. BTM has been shown to temporize and stabilize the wounds and can stay on for several weeks with some cases reporting spontaneous epithelial growth. This means many BTM patients can be outpatients. Good when Covid numbers are high.
