id say that 100 k reference is the guaranteed base component. not the at risk commission component
different companies have different commision structures
some offer guaranteed commissions for the first 3-6 month ramp up period , some dont. some offer soft targets in your first year. some offer very aggressive accelerators past 100% like a 3-4x multiple acclerator.
some have gates so you dont earn any commisions at all until after 50% of your sales are achieved to factor in your base salary; while some companies will start paying you commision from the first sale made
most sales reps have quota attached to about 75-85% of their quota number and the other 15-25% is a soft target like x amount of meetings per month or pipeline generation or something like that
id say that 100 k reference is the guaranteed base component....
