Also, the last short squeeze coincided with an unprecedented tidal wave of retail money chasing sp momentum during the first Covid wave. The short sellers hadn't seen anything like it and GTFO of the way. I'd been privately questioning the short squeeze catalyst this time in the absence of the retail tidal wave, DW purchases appear to be it imo.
This time is different... as you indicate, this is very likely stronger hands. Could be far worse for the shorts, certainly makes their exit strategy more difficult.
