If anything, I would be uneasy about a quick deal being made.
The Board needs to be sure that it's a good deal, not just any deal. I want them to be sure that the partner has the wherewithal and motivation (including contractual motivators) to develop and then market products expeditiously. On the other hand, the proposed partner will try to obtain as much flexibility as they can get. Negotiating a good deal is not straightforward.
I trust the Board to know what a good deal is and I want them to walk away if the other party isn't willing to make a deal that's good for our co.
