It's worth it I think. I started off like many people do - trying to wrap their heads around fundamental analysis. I have spent the bulk of my working life in visual effects so naturally I have a visual inclination and I found I could incorporate trading concepts much more easily into my head when viewing the markets understanding of a business through a chart. I still use fundamentals but prefer to use them as a filter when screening for trades.
A really helpful thing I heard lately was that it's actually possible to really enjoy partaking in activities/education/practices that you previously told yourself you wouldn't [enjoy]. Right now I am deep into python and machine learning for finance - something I would have found hard to get into a few years ago.
This whole game is about learning and is so much more rewarding than the money imo.
