"don't invest funds you can't afford to lose"
Not a poor investment, just a poor approach to investing. This is not fixed income, returns are random and you need to be able to sit on a position for many years if you want the high returns equities are known for. You can talk about opportunity cost all you like, but that's literally what investing is all about. You're taking on the additional risk of negative returns, potentially for extended periods of time, for the potentially very large returns that can be generated in the longer run. The only way to get the latter is through patience, otherwise you're only ever going to get the former. There's no quick buck when it comes to investing, but if you think there is then I have a $999 course to sell you on how to get it
