This is a very complicated piece of life saving surgery.
The piece of Novosorb is really pretty small but its been a critical element in a successful out come that would have posed significant difficulties in healing the wound without further complications if it hadn't been available.
Its the 3c cog in the mechanism that made the clock function correctly, the tiny missing piece of the jigsaw that completed the puzzle... you get the picture. Even though its not FDA approved for this specific use...
