casting is used in weight bearing ulcers to offload the wound.
often required to allow healing to integrate without disruption.
normally we would use moon boots ect with offloading deviations built in for example.
it is likely that some of these protocols will still be needed even with Novosorb to allow integration ect.
for example a pressure ulcer below the 1st MTPJ (big toe joint)
really needs to be offloaded to let it heal properly.
