I am cynical of the public health care systems in first world countries, as an example, one only has to look at the waiting time for potential life saving heart bypass surgeries as a public patient in australia to realise that many passes away before making it to the operating theatre. Politicians, bureaucrats and technocrats aren’t too interested in saving lives but at self serving their own interests,
I have my doubts on India public health care buying truck loads of BTM to treat the millions of burn victims that are from socially and financially disadvantaged backgrounds. Some token purchases can be expected but I am expecting larger purchases are by charities/benefactors/donors. DFU I am expecting it to be largely funded by patients’ own families or private health insurance rather than through public health care. I do not insights into the breakdown of DFU population’s social and economic status but I would be rather surprised if the Indian market would be of a tiny fraction of the number mentioned. Perhaps someone with better knowledge of Indian healthcare and background can shed more light for us that don’t know India well.
